State Insurance Requirements
Maine state law requires minimum Bodily Injury Liability limits of $50,000 per injured person up to a total of $100,000 per accident, and Property Damage Liability coverage with a minimum limit of $25,000. This basic coverage is often referred to as 50/100/25 coverage with 50/100 UM limits.

Medical Payments (MP) coverage pays for the medical and funeral expenses for you or others hurt or killed in an accident while riding in or driving your car. Maine state law requires a minimum Medical Payment coverage of $1,000.
To help protect against damages caused to you and your passengers by an uninsured driver, Maine state law requires a minimum Uninsured/Under-insured Motorist coverage of $50,000 per person up to a total of $100,000 per accident for any bodily injury caused by the uninsured and/or under-insured driver (depending on the state).
